(Saturday 6th July 2019)
We love playing in front of the main entrance to Lichfield's impressive cathedral. Once again we were invited back to play on the market day that launches the Festival each year, but as the weather forcasts indicated in the days leading up to the Saturday, it poured down.
As we waited for our turn, the skies darkened and about 5 minutes from the end of the session for the group in front of us on the program, the skies opened.
Credit where it's due as they continued, though I was concerned, with microphones and cables getting soaked, for their safety.
Susannah Santomassimo [what a great name] suggest we call it all off, but, as every one ran into the small marquee we were in with our equipment, we started to play.
It was great. Every one joined in and thoroughly enjoyed the session we did. Susannah was very appreciative, quoting the 'never say die' attitude etc.
Good fun and great to realise how adaptable we now are. Dare I say it ....professional.
