Lichfield U3A Showcase Event

As U3A Guitar group 1 our origins and practices are every bit U3A based. Lichfield's membership has grown significantly over the past few years and yet despite a huge potential membership group in and around Lichfield, the vast majority of the population have no idea what the U3A is about.

The Showcase Event in Lichfield's Guildhall was essentially to show what is going on and to try and entice new members in to join extisting groups or even to form new ones.

In the Guldhall itself [and on the various floors above that] groups had created displays and had members on hand to answer any enquiries concering what they offered. In the Guildroom on the ground floor, refreshments and musical entertainment fom all the various music groups took place.

We were on first which allowed us to 'jam' prior to the Mayor opening proceedings after which we had a 25 minute slot.

Despite concerns about the low ceiling and restricted space it sounded good and all in all we had a good time, as did our audience.
